Unfortunately, due to Corona, we too have to comply with various protective measures. Therefore this year's edition is a "visitor-free" event so to speak. In plain language this means that nobody except the registered participants and accredited journalists and photographers will have access to the restricted areas. These restricted zones are on Friday for the technical inspection of the vehicles in front of the Hotel Kempinski (parking lot and parts of the park) and on Saturday/Sunday the paddock at the Ospizio Bernina (the entire building including the complete parking area between the buildings and the road), as well as the start area in La Rösa (road, parking lot and building of the Stazione de la Posta). Unfortunately, no exceptions can be made. There is also no appropriate visitor infrastructure, such as shuttle buses etc.

The Rhaetian Railway and the post bus also go to the Ospizio during the closing times, because hikers also want to go there. Coming from north, the road is closed from the Lagalp/Diavolezza parking lot during closing times.

We know that this is unsatisfactory and of course we hope that the situation will normalize in 2021. It's actually absurd that we have a great event that is supposed to bring visitors to the Engadin and then we actually have to work against it on this very point, but that's the rules and health comes first. Unfortunately, the topography leaves us no other choice since we can't monitor or block off the entire area at the Bernina.

Best regards from Team Bernina Gran Turismo
